What is the difference between a tow truck and a wrecker?

A wrecker is typically used when a recovery is needed.  Often wreckers have a large boom and extra cable on the winch to allow access to more precise areas of a vehicle when needed.  Tow trucks often have booms as well, however more often than not these days tow trucks are flatbed trucks that allow us to park your vehicle on our truck for transport.  Great question!

Flatbed tow truck load and tow your vehicle on the bed and wrecker tow your vehicle by lifting one set of tires and other set is rolling on the ground. Thank you. Need tow call 267-230-3637

This is just a terminology.  The different types of towing trucks are Wreckers and Flatbeds.  And there are different sizes of tow trucks based on the size vehicles they are designed to tow.

What is the technical difference between a tow truck and a wrecker truck? A tow truck is a truck that can tow or haul a vehicle, but a wrecker truck can recover vehicles. Sometimes, a wrecker truck can also be a tow truck, but a tow truck cannot also be a wrecker truck.
